Chartering Operator at Erik Thun AB

We are looking for a chartering operator who wants to be involved in driving our daily operations forward and creating value in every transport.

This is a business-oriented and operational role where you work closely with our vessels, customers and partners, with a focus on ensuring efficient, profitable and well-functioning transports.

You will enter a situation where we are in an expansive phase with major investments in the fleet of the future. Here you will have the opportunity to work in a central role in the business, where you contribute to both the daily operations and our continued development.

Your everyday life

In the role of charter operator, you work broadly with ship operations and transport flows. You are an important link between ships, customers, agents and internal functions, ensuring that each voyage is carried out as efficiently as possible.

The work is varied and involves both planning, follow-up and ongoing problem solving. You work closely with colleagues and external partners, and are involved in creating structure, control and profitability in our business.

Among other things, you will:

  • Work with vessel operational tasks in the daily operations
  • Prepare pre- and post-calculations for transport
  • Calculate bunker costs and CO2 emissions
  • Document the ships’ port calls
  • Manage invoicing and coding and factual review of incoming invoices
  • Communicate with ships, agents and brokers
  • Negotiate with subcontractors regarding compensation and terms
  • Visit ships and support our subsidiary OP Ship when needed

The role involves close collaboration with several parts of the organization and gives you a good insight into the entire transport chain.

Who are you?

You thrive in an operational role where the pace is sometimes high and where you need to make decisions, prioritize and find solutions along the way. You are structured but flexible, and have a natural ability to collaborate and build relationships.

You have an interest in logistics and transport flows, and like to work in an environment where business and operations meet.

To succeed in the role, we see that you:

  • Have an education in logistics or experience of transport and logistics work, preferably in shipping
  • Are comfortable communicating in English in speech and writing
  • Have experience of working in different business or operational systems
  • Enjoy working in teams and have a humble attitude

  • Have a high level of social skills and are good at building relationships

Dry Cargo

We are looking for a Master of Dry Cargo vessel, LakeVänernMAX  

(6 weeks, start w.27) 

Erik Thun Group is looking for an experienced and dedicated master for our dry cargo vessels, LakeVänernMAX for a time-limited assignment. 

We offer a role in a business where long-term thinking, responsibility and cooperation characterize everyday life – both on board and ashore. 

About the assignment 

  1. Function: Commander 
  2. Vessel: Dry cargo 
  3. Period: Start week 27 
  4. Duration: about 6 weeks 


About the role 

As a master, you have the overall responsibility for safe operations, the work environment and the crew’s work on board. You lead the work with clarity and respect and contribute to the culture of professionalism and collaboration that is central to our business. 

We are looking for you who 

  1. Have valid master’s privileges 
  2. Has documented experience in a similar role 
  3. Is a confident leader with good collaboration skills 
  4. Works in a structured way and with great responsibility 
  5. Shares our view on safety, quality and long-term
